Delia Loretta Ford Brown, B.A., M.A.
Delia, born in Camden, NJ, lived in the Centerville section until she married. She was educated in the Camden School System and proudly graduated from Camden High School in 1960. Delia matriculated at Glassboro State College and became a teacher. After being an Elementary Teacher in another school district, she came home to Camden. For twenty-nine plus years, Delia devoted herself to educating the children in Camden. This was done in the capacity of Teacher of Reading; Supervisor of Reading; and Director of Curriculum & Instruction. Delia retired from Camden in 2005. Since this time, eighteen years later, she has come back to the District every school year, once a week, to volunteer and to mentor students. Delia was on the committee for the new Camden High School, serving as Chairman of the Culture & History Committee. Upon completion of the new Camden High School Campus, she was invited to speak at the “Ribbon Cutting” Delia has received numerous awards for her service to children and to the community. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the South Jersey (NJ) Chapter, of the Links, Incorporated. Delia was the proud wife of the late Arthur K. Brown, and is the Mother of three daughters and the three grandchildren.
